The key objective of our research is to understand development challenges, to develop solutions to poverty reduction, and to improve the design of development policies. We combine econometric analysis with lab experiments, field experiments, and field surveys. Our research projects are often part of international and interdisciplinary research programs, collaborating with various policy makers. Our main research interests are the analysis of poverty and inequality, identifying technologies and policies for the provision of basic social services, population dynamics and child health, effectiveness of development policies. We are particularly interested in countries and cities of sub-Saharan Africa.
